About Nancy

If longevity means anything, then Nancy Jenkins has a whole lot of something. Nancy Jenkins has been declaring the Gospel of Jesus Christ since 1956 when she signed with Gospel Sounds Records at the age of 16.  She has over 15 CDs to her credit and she is still singing for Jesus.

Nancy was born and raised in Cannon Falls, Maddocha.  She grew up in the church and singing in the church.  She had to because her father was the pastor of the Jenkins Temple COGIC.  Nancy inherited her father's powerful singing voice and charisma. Nancy, even at a young age was able to sing with an anointing.  A woman once testified that as Nancy sung during a revival service when she was five years old, the woman felt the healing virtue of the Lord go through her body.  The lady had been diagnosed with kidney problems.  The lady went back to the doctor and found that what she had been diagnosed with early was no longer a problem.

Nancy's career began early when she caught the attention of Harold Middleton, the owner of Gospel Sounds Records. He signed Nancy to his label. Nancy did not release an album until 1960 because Nancy did not find any of the songs to her and her father's liking.  A young songwriter by the name of Charles Ross met Nancy while she was singing at a musical. He discussed a song that he had written with her.  That meeting developed into a long-lasting musical friendship as well as a marriage.  Charles wrote all of the songs for Nancy's album which was released March of 1960.  In 1961, Nancy and Charles were married.

Nancy released 9 albums on Gospel Sounds Records before it was acquired by Mo'Sound Gospel.  She released more CDs on Mo'Sound Gospel Records.  Although Nancy is not currently recording any CDs, she still travels and sings. Her voice is still powerful, charismatic, and anointed.  It can truly be said of Nancy Jenkins, The Legend Sings On!
